He holds a Bachelor of Music from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music (majoring in classical trumpet performance). He has taught students of all ages in many different institutions and settings from primary and secondary schools as well as tertiary. Throughout his career, he has taught all brass instruments (trumpet, french horn, trombone, euphonium & tuba) as well as percussion (tuned mallet and drum kit) and he has become an expert in the teaching and practice of trumpet performance technique. Shannon thoroughly enjoy passing on his knowledge and expertise to his students and feel a great motivation and satisfaction seeing the next generation of young musicians discover the joys and challenges that only playing a musical instrument can bring.
